Dr. Apurav Sharma received his Ph.D. Degree from the Department of Microbiology at Panjab University, Chandigarh, where his research focused on converting biodegradable solid waste into biofertilizer consortium formulations. He is currently working in the Biochemical Conversion Division, where he is involved in developing and optimizing processes for bioethanol and biohydrogen production from biodegradable solid biomass. His research interest lies in microbiology and fermentation technologies, with a strong focus on microbial applications in the production of enzymes, bioethanol, biohydrogen, and biofertilizers. He holds 3 Indian patents and has authored 14 peer-reviewed articles in scientific journals and books.
Gaganpreet Kaur has obtained her Integrated Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Microbiology from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, in 2016. Her Master’s work was focused on the evaluation of heavy metal-tolerant bacterial isolates for effluent treatment. She worked as a Research Assistant in the UAY project entitled “Development of an effluent treatment plant for hand tool industry” at IIT Ropar from 2017 to 2020.
Presently, she is working as a Senior Research Fellow under the supervision of Dr Sachin Kumar in the Biochemical Conversion Division, SSS-NIBE, Kapurthala, in 2021 and pursuing her PhD degree from the Department of Biotechnology, National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar. She has been assigned an in-house project to enrich thermophilic consortium for enhanced biogas/ biomethane production.
Nisha Yadav obtained her B.Sc. in Life Sciences and M.Sc. in Environmental Sciencesfrom University of Delhi and Central University of Haryana, respectively. She has worked on Sequestration of Reactive Black 5 Dye using Bacterial Exopolysaccharides and live biomass during her Master’s dissertation. She has obtained her Bachelor of Education from Government College of Education, Narnaul, Haryana.
Nisha Yadav joined Biochemical Conversion Division (BCD) at SSS-NIBE as Junior Research Fellow and upgraded to Senior Research Fellow under the supervision of Dr. Sachin Kumar. She is presently working on Biogas production and its upgradation. She is pursuing her PhD from Dr. BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar under the joint supervision of Prof. M.K. Jha and Dr. Sachin Kumar.
